Nature - Swans at Long Point and Aylmer, March 14, 2025

Fellow racing photographer Peter Anderson and i visited Long Point and the Aylmer Wildlife Management Area to witness the annual Swan Migration. Today there were many Tundra Swans (formerly Whistling Swans) on Lake Erie at Long Point, and approximately 1400 at Aylmer.

On my way to the 2021 Vintage Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, i saw a fox in the streets of Toronto. I suspect i've seen this fox before, likely carrying other prey back to it's den for young. It was very determined, and walked right by me without much concern.

Gary Kendall led a blues/rock n roll band which included Lorraine Ingle, Dawn Duvall, Miss Emily, Kevin Katkings, Peter Elkas and more. Blind Ice Hockey Saturday March 23, 2019 PART 1

This is Part 1 of 2 of Saturday's photos- includes Select Series:USA vs Canada West, Open Division and Low Vision Division games.

Canada played the United States during the 2019 Canadian National Blind Hockey Tournament at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (former Maple Leaf Gardens). If you haven't seen it, blind ice hockey is amazing. All players are legally blind, with many having zero vision (including all goaltenders). The top level teams (Canada West, Canada East and the United States) perform at a pace which has to be seen to be believed. The speed and intensity are again, amazing. There are also children, youth and low vision divisions which are equally remarkable. They use a larger puck (with ball bearings for noise), a shorter net (puck is silent in the air), a one pass rule after crossing the blue line before trying to score (to give the goaltenders more info) and a mix of vision levels on ice at one time to keep the teams even (black helmets = under 10%, white = under 5%, red = 0%). I shot both Friday and Saturday (i was unable to attend the final day Sunday - Canada West won Gold in overtime). The Toronto Blues Society held the 22nd annual Maple Blues Awards at Koerner Hall tonight. I shot the 'After Glow Party', which included (in no order) (sorry - i haven't identified everyone) Guy Belanger, Dawn Tyler Watson, Jenie Thai, Raha Javanfar, Fraser Melvin, Paul DesLauriers, Suzie Vinnick, Lance Anderson, Nick Earle, Joe Coffin, Tom Bona, Ann Vriend, Alison Young and David Vest. Concert - Cadillac Lounge "Last Ride" Sunday April 29, 2018

The Cadillac Lounge has joined the list of closed historic music clubs in Toronto. The last night's show featured many tributes to the 18 year run of owner/promoter Sam Grosso. The last band to perform was the same band that opened the club many years ago - The Wayward Angels. The Sin City Boys were also on the stage tonight, as well as the Surfrajettes and Thomas Dole.
