“It’s going to be an important weekend for the future of Micks Motorsports.”
MOUNT ALBERT, ONTARIO (June 13, 2007) – Kerry Micks has a lot riding on his
performance this weekend. Not only is the stock car veteran the defending winner of
the Father's Day Doubleheader Weekend at Mosport International Raceway, and would
like to keep hold of his title, he is hoping for a good showing to retain and secure
solid sponsorship for the remainder of the year.
For the upcoming race, Micks will be driving the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Taurus
on the Mosport road course, the second race in the new 12-event NASCAR Canadian Tire
Series presented by Sirius Satellite Radio.
“We run really well at Mosport and I enjoy the challenging road courses, they
separate the men from the boys,” said Micks from his Mount Albert, Ontario race
shop. “Our team’s start in the first race of the season wasn’t all that great and
the plan is to rebound with a good finish,” he added.
The Father's Day Doubleheader Weekend - The Dickies 200, presented by Canadian
Shield Anticrime will take place Saturday and Sunday on the 2.5-mile, 10-turn road
course, June 16 – 17, at Mosport International Raceway, located about 60 miles east
of Toronto just north of Bowmanville, Ontario.
“It’s going to be an important weekend for the future of Micks Motorsports in 2007,”
Micks added, referring to primary sponsorship agreement with Beyond Digital Imaging
for the first three events of the season. “A podium finish or hopefully a win may
give us the momentum the team needs to secure the sponsorship for the rest of the
season.”
